It has been long discussed what is the most important technological equipment in the world. As far as I am concerned, I think that smartphones are the most essential technology innovations. There are three reasons why smartphones are the most vital technology innovations in a global society.

First of all, smartphones make people see each other directly through video images. Take myself as an example. Due to my work, I live in Taipei alone. However, I can use the smartphone ’s video function to chat with my mother every day. Even when my mother has a traffic accident, I could utilize the video function of my smartphone to understand her situation, so that I released my worry and tension.

In addition, people are easier to contact with different people from various countries by smartphones. For example, people can simply set up a video conference with customers from the United States or France, show them the latest products, and get the orders from worldwide. Customers can pick up the products in which they have interested via smartphones. With the smartphone, it not only reduces the cost of a business trip but also broadens a chance to promote a product to the world.

Third, the smartphone enables people to live in a safer and more convenient life. For instance, thanks to the new online payment and mobile payment techniques, they can pay the fee of accommodation in advance, and do not need to bring any money. Moreover, due to the prevalence of mobile payment, people can only bring their smartphones when going shopping, so that they do not need to worry that thieves may steal their purses.

To sum up, although some people may contend that the smartphone makes life more complicated, I still believe that the smartphone enables people to live in a better and more convenient life in the world.
