Nowadays, more and more people raise pets in their homes. Some people treat their pets as human beings, sleeping on the same bad with their pets or spending a lot of money on pets' food or goods, while some people think that pets are just animals and that raising pets is just for protection or safeguarding home. As far as I am concerned, pets are not only our most loyal friends but also our best emotional support. I agree that pets deserve to be treated like family members. 

First of all, the emotional support that a pet provides is as important as family members. Some people may even feel closer to their pets than their family members. Take myself as an example. Due to my work, I live in Taipei alone. I always feel lonely and empty when I return to the suite from work, because no one is waiting for me to go home. Therefore, if I had a pet, I would treat it like my family. Since a pet can give me the best companion when I just get home from exhausting work, makes me feel so warm, and helps me relieve all the pressure and loneliness.

In addition, pets are creatures with feeling and consciousness. They are like children and will learn and treat people the same way that they are treated. Consequently, since some people will have children in the future, treating pets as family members can teach people how to take care of others, how to cultivate patience, and how to love responsibly in advance. Moreover, people can learn not only discover all the needs of care receivers discreetly, but also give them a lot of care and love deliberately.

To sum up, I strongly hold that people should treat their pets like family members because of the unconditional love and emotional support provided by their pets.
