【題目試寫】

In this set of materials, the reading passage states that the advantages of extinguishing forest fire, while the listening passage contradicts the information presented in the reading passage.

First of all, the reading indicates that putting out forest fire can make trees live longer, and promote the health of trees. However, the listening claims that lush oak’s foliage block sunlight from reaching the floor. Therefore, young oak trees cannot grow properly due to the lack of sunlight.

In addition, the article asserts that suppressing forest fire can reduce loss of nutrients. Because fire suppression enables some wild planets to flourish on the forest floor and prevents the reduction of nutrients in the soil. In contrast, the lecture describes that the flourish of wild plants deters young oaks from growing properly. Moreover, the nutrients released from dead animals and plants after forest fire will lead to the increase of nutrients on soil surface for plants to grow back.

Third, the text mentions that wild animals can grow steadily, and they would not die from forest fires. On the other hand, the speech shows that increasing the number of deer would reduce the number of saplings because leaves are eaten by deer.

In conclusion, the article and the lecture hold contrary perspectives toward the effect of fire suppression.
