Different people have their own view and definition on courage. As far as I am concerned, courage is a kind of spirit that make people not be afraid to face difficulties and dare to follow the heart to do the right thing. The reasons go as follows.

To begin with, only the people who have sufficient courage will be able to face the challenges directly and make the right decision immediately. My brother, Alex, is a firefighter. No matter how bad the situation is, if there are still people trapped in the burning building, he will put on his equipment and run into the building without hesitation. He tells me that even he is afraid of death, his courage enables him to accomplish his duty and save more lives.

In addition, courage makes people dare to do right thing. When I was young, My family and I moved to Japan. Because I could not speak Japanese well, I was isolated by my classmates. Only the girl who sat next to me was willing to be my partner in group discussion and stop others making fun of me. She knew that what our classmates done is not right, but it is her courage enabled her to speak out for me and do the correct thing. 

To sum up, courage is an important and precious spirit. people who have courage will be more brave to face the difficulties in their life , will not live in others’ eyes and do the thing that they think it is right. The more the people have courage, our society will have more heroes and be better.
